POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Analyst elicits, analyzes, validates, documents, and manages the real needs of project stakeholders, including customers and end users, to serve as the conduit between the customer community/experience and the technical solution product and development teams. The Data Analyst collaborates with the development, product, marketing, and sales teams to understand their business needs and processes to translate findings to software requirements using both Agile and traditional software development and methodologies. This role is a crucial component in managing and expanding efforts to expand our data-driven processes across CallRevu to set the direction for all business intelligence (BI) efforts moving forward.
 

A Typical Week May Look Like:

Data Analytics and Business Intelligence (BI)

  • Leads requirements elicitation, prioritization, and documentation from stakeholders using various methods, such as user stories, interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, story boards, wire frames, brainstorming sessions, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, and scenarios. This includes creating data sets to extract and synthesize data to interpret quantitative and qualitative analyses.
  • Ensures data being analyzed is aligned with key business indicators and metrics that influence the financial health and strategic vision of CallRevu.
  • Leads the development of data insight that will help drive strategic and tactical business opportunities and is the champion for data-driven decision making.
  • Partners with the engineering, development, marketing, and product teams to determine what data should be analyzed to assist the sales team in developing a “story” for our customers.
  • Partners with stakeholders to solve any business problems and, as needed, assists in designing solutions.
  • Analyzes information to identify trends, patterns, gaps, and insights using descriptive analytics.
  • Proactively develops reporting and conducts drill-down analysis to identify specific variances in cost and end-user utilization.

Communication and Project Management

  • Maintains a deep awareness of how the business operations work to help stakeholders identify problems early to generate creative solutions and ideas for prompt resolution.
  • Serves as a liaison to communicate requirements to the development and product teams to facilitate detailed requirement gathering with stakeholders during development lifecycle.
  • Partners with product owners/managers to make necessary decisions around product implementation and priorities. Ensures all necessary parties are informed of project priorities and schedules.
  • Assists project management team with release planning to ensure stakeholders vision, processes, and priorities are represented.
  • Facilitates requirement traceability, categorization, and management and assists in planning and scoping inter-related projects for various initiatives.
  • Serves as the liaison between product owners to understand the structure, policies, data, and operations of the organization. Validates with stakeholders to ensure requirements are written clearly and with enough detail to be implementable by development and testable by quality assurance.
  • Builds, confirms, and prioritizes project plans and deliverables with department leadership and the executive leadership team (ELT).
  • Attends customer meetings as needed and identified by the sales team to assist in showing customers the value add of CallRevu’s products and solutions.
  • Facilitates and assists with customer training as appropriate to ensure products are being fully utilized.
  • Communicates analytic concepts and findings to all levels within CallRevu, including developing communication that summarizes conclusions, presents actionable opportunities, and proposes strategic and operational options.
  • Leads reviews of business processes with the appropriate departments present to develop optimization strategies and build necessary business cases for making changes to existing practices, programs, and/or procedures.

Leadership

  • Establishes BI and analytics as a practice and develops best practice guide and template to develop and set a solution design standard.
  • Provides technology insights and process consulting services to internal and external CallRevu customers to raise awareness and assist in telling the product story and value add.
  • Serves as a coach and mentor to the data analytics team to ensure quality results are achieved across CallRevu, while scaling our analytics functionality.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge on the latest processes, trends, and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
  • Ensures alignment to CallRevu’s Mission, Vision, and Values to meet organizational goals.
  • Collaborates with peers and colleagues in other departments to improve CallRevu’s operations.

Is This You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in business analytics, preferably in the technology or automotive industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and innovatively, while supporting company-wide initiatives and goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong technical skills, including data modeling, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and disseminate/report on significant amounts of information via reports and dashboards with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
  • Exceptional data technology and analytics knowledge and experience in data warehouse methodologies and BI practices, including, but not limited to, data management, data integration, and analytics system architecture.
  • Experience working the following software languages R and Python. Experience documenting and managing requirements using multiple methodologies (i.e. Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and experience managing software implementations in an enterprise level environment and GAP analysis using process flows or other modeling tools/languages.
  • Energetic, go-getter with strong abilities to build relationships, follow up on requests, manage projects, and complete tasks according to prioritization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, while maintaining a forward-thinking mindset to understand the upcoming needs of the sales, product, and development teams.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and respond to changing needs as they present in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% via car, air, or train.
  • Ability to align to CallRevu’s Mission, Vision, Values, and goals to support the sale initiatives and organizational needs.
